ACTIVITY AND STATUS OF B.P.F.

1993

Party was founded by students-patriotes. First action of B.P.F. was against agreements about political and military cooperation with Russia. The slogan of action: "Moscower go home".

1994

Struggle against renewed communists and russian fascists organizations (branch of "Russian National Unity" of Barkashov, Slavianian Union "White Russia", "Brotherhood of Kazaks" and etc.).

1995

Sergey Vysotsky won local elections. One of the most popular oppositional newspapers "Za volu" was founded in this year.

1996

B.P.F. took part in the actions "Spring 96". Young people-members of the Party protect people who participate in actions from police. In autumn leader of B.P.F. S.Vysotsky won Parliament elections in 247th district. But Parliament was released by Lukashenko. B.P.F. asked army to remove regime, however leaders of Parliament didn't support this requirement.

However first place of S.Vysotsky during Parliament elections shows that people would like radical fight against russian regime and slogans of Sergey Vysotsky during elections was "Trial for Lukashenko".

1997

Party was under repressions. Member of the Party A. Melnikov was jailed for 9 monts. Many members were arrested.

1998

B.P.F. organized many public actions. The most actions were directed to support fight of independent unions of workers. In 1998 B.P.F. announced about creation of Belarusian Liberation movement (radical opposition).

1999

In this year strengthening of russian fascists groups took place. Government started to support these groups openly. Murders of famous oppositional politics took place. Struggle with russian fascists groups - the main direction of activity of B.P.F. in this year.

7.09.1999

During the visit of russian president Putin to Minsk B.P.F. organized demonstrations and burned russian flag in Minsk and Warsaw. Action "Marsh of Freedom" showed the growth of resistance to Lukashenko. B.P.F. took active part in this action.

Centrists belarusian opposition lost in the fight with regime. New radical changes in political life could be implemented by new forces with new approaches. One of these forces - is Belarussian Party of Freedom and growing national-patriotic movement. The goal of B.P.F. - to remove Lukashenko. Struggle of B.P.F. against Russian imperialistic regime are supported by society. B.P.F. have big popularity and influrnce. At the same time B.P.F. do not have material and financial opportunites to achieve its goals.

Relations between different opposition parties are not good. Medias of centrists opposition didn't pay attention to efforts of B.P.F. Non-radical democrates loose their popularity. B.P.F. become more and more popular. At the same time Russian National Unity (russian fascists party) become very popular too. They get good financial support from their Russian headquarters.
